Trust EVM Announced

The EOS Network Foundation announced Trust EVM!

Trust EVM is an Ethereum Virtual Machine based on the EOS network, empowering developers with familiar blockchain tools & code to operate their apps with the industry leading throughput, scalability, security, composability, and reliability of EOS.

Trust EVM runs as a smart contract on EOS, the most scalable and performant blockchain in production today. With 0.5 second block times and 10,000+ TPS, the Trust EVM is orders of magnitude more powerful than other EVMs and can completely revolutionize the EVM dApp ecosystem. GameFi apps based on micro-transactions built using Solidity can finally thrive on EOS, as its extremely high throughput enables micro-cent gas fees. DeFi apps can also benefit tremendously from the ultra low latency, enabling high frequency trading cases for regular EVM smart contracts.

The Trust EVM features full RPC compatibility and enables all of the existing Solidity based contracts, tooling, SDKs, & code libraries to be interoperable with EOS. This will greatly help attract new developers, dApps, & end users to EOS and make it much easier for developers to build amazing applications on EOS. Ethereum native applications can seamlessly be ported to EOS EVM, which supports popular Ethereum tools like Remix, Metamask, Truffle, Hardhat, and GraphQL APIs. In addition, the Trust EVM runtime maintains full compatibility with the rest of the EOS dApp ecosystem, allowing tokens to be trustlessly moved between the environments.

The Trust EVM is now live on the Jungle Testnet and ready for testing. Developers can learn more and begin testing Trust EVM with the official developer documentation.

To celebrate this monumental milestone and help everyone learn about the most performant EVM on the market, the ENF hosted an EOS EVM Launch Event + AMA on Twitter Spaces featuring keynotes from the ENF and core Trust EVM contributors.

Almost 400 people attended the live event and the ENF & Trust EVM team provided detailed information regarding the future development of EOS. Details included the EVM’s technological advantages, plans for attracting DeFi & GameFi, ecosystem development timeline, product range, network architecture, technical features, performance statistics, and much more. Yves La Rose, founder and CEO of EOS Network Foundation, Matias Romeo, technical leader of the EVM+ working group, and the Trust EVM core team member Dr. Yarkin Who delivered keynote speeches to help everyone understand the profound benefits of the EOS EVM.

Many additional exciting details about Trust EVM were shared during this week’s EOS Fireside Chat. Topics discussed include the EOS EVM Twitter Spaces event, tooling on EOS EVM, EVM tokens, interoperability between EOS & EOS EVM, the Trust EVM product team, the elegant design of the Trust EVM incentive structure, shared liquidity pools, and the Yield+ initiative which is creating economic incentives to increase liquidity & yield earning opportunities on EOS.

In addition to the hugely successful Twitter Spaces Event and Fireside Chat, there’s also been widespread media coverage about Trust EVM in dozens of the most popular business & crypto publications in the world. The world is beginning to realize the tremendous potential of EOS to create positive global change. EOS has been battle tested over four years and with the ENF now at the helm, we are able to offer tremendous value to builders through multiple grant and incentive programs. The EOS Network has proven its ability to process over 120 million daily transactions with industry leading energy efficiency, the equivalent of almost 4,000 TPS of usage in production without any network stoppages or disruptions. With Trust EVM, EOS developers are more empowered than ever with instant access to open source code libraries, SDKs, and popular toolkits paving the way for rapid adoption.

Upon launch, Trust EVM will be the most performant EVM on the market and will already be equipped with a full suite of world class products, business cases, marketing, and growth strategies. The Mainnet Launch of Trust EVM, EVM Product Suite, and EVM Launchpad are scheduled for Q3 of this year.

First Eden Chief Delegate Meetings

The newly elected Eden Chief Delegates met for their first two meetings this week and shared insightful conversations about the future of Eden.

The Chief Delegates started their first meeting by reintroducing themselves and sharing their plans & goals that they aim to achieve as Chief Delegates. Edgar Fernandez, who is head chief delegate and chaired the meeting, spoke about building more tools for accounting transparency of Eden funds amongst delegates. Michael O’Sullivan plans to produce great content for EOS, empower Eden with more governance rights, and help write the story of Eden. Chuck MacDonald plans to empower communities with an easy-to-use Eden dApp and communicate to help increase awareness about the benefits of Eden. Edgar, Michael, and Chuck each shared more details about their goals as Chief Delegates in recent interviews with NovaCrypto. Brock Pierce plans to form an advisory council to help allocate Eden funding and help Eden become as successful as possible. Gracie Lau, who is also a Chief Delegate of Eden China, plans to deploy funding to help with EOS onboarding and hugely popular dApps that attract more people to EOS.

After the introductions, the group discussed logistical matters like meeting times, distribution of responsibilities, organizational roles, continuity of the Eden board, and the bylaws proposed by the first Chief Delegates.

The second Eden Chief Delegate meeting was released more recently and features an impressive new video intro created by Michael & Chuck.

During the meeting, the Chief Delegates unanimously agreed to approve Michael O’Sullivan as Treasurer &Press Secretary & former Chief Delegate Chris Barnes as Secretary. The delegates also discussed transferring genesis.eden account active permissions to the current Eden Chief Delegates, social media growth, and appointing a Technical Committee for Eden.

EOSIO Coalition Weekly Meeting

EOSIO community leaders met for the first public EOSIO Coalition Weekly Meeting to discuss, plan, and build the future of EOSIO.

The EOS Network Foundation recently formed a coalition and combined development resources with Telos, Wax, and UX Network to lead the development of the EOSIO protocol core code that underlies each of these blockchains. This coalition committed a combined $8 million annual budget for core development and developer outreach in 2022.

In their first meeting since the official formation of the EOSIO Coalition, representatives from EOS, Wax, Telos, and UX blockchains discuss a number of wide range of topics including group priorities, media outreach, funding, and more. In addition to the EOSIO Coalition Weekly Meeting, many EOSIO community leaders also met for the first Scalability+ working group call, an EOSIO Coalition sub-group working to help scale EOSIO for the future of Web3.

Development is beginning immediately with priorities defined in the four Blue Papers, previously commissioned by the ENF, which represent a detailed overview of the current state of EOSIO with more than seventy-five proposals to enhance the protocol. Some of the first projects users may see are developer SDKs for easier EOSIO development, wallet improvements and sub-second transaction finality. All code developed by the group will be open source and available for any EOSIO protocol-based projects to use freely.

“This coalition represents a monumental shift in direction for the future of the EOSIO protocol and is a huge milestone for all of the businesses leveraging its technology. The network effect of multiple EOSIO blockchains working together to secure the growth and sustainability of our common codebase and related open source innovations is a force multiplier that will be paying dividends for years to come”

— Yves La Rose, Executive Director of the EOS Network Foundation
