New Chief Marketing Officer

In an epic development for EOS, esteemed global business leader Patty Fisher joins our team as Chief Marketing Officer!

Patty Fisher is a founder, entrepreneur, and communications visionary with over twenty-five years of experience leading marketing efforts for several Fortune 100 global brands. She has a stellar record in leadership roles for a wide variety of innovative companies with billions of dollars in revenue and thousands of employees, including AT&T, AOL, USA Today, Verisign, Sage Software, & OVHcloud. In addition to leading global marketing efforts at these major companies, Patty is also deeply familiar with EOS, EOSIO, and the blockchain industry. Patty served as the Senior Vice President of Marketing for Block.one for almost two years and, after leaving the company to start her consulting firm, she’s worked with successful crypto companies like Protocol Labs and Defactor. Patty’s been serving as an advisor for many of our exciting initiatives for the last few months and we are thrilled that she is now joining our team to focus her efforts on EOS!

With her tremendous experience, communication skills, and understanding of our ecosystem, Patty is the perfect person to help tell the story of The New EOS that will benefit billions of people. The first project that she’s focusing on is the EOSIO rebrand and she’ll share many more incredible ideas with the community soon. You can listen to Patty introduce herself, share her exciting visions for marketing EOS, and answer several questions about her new role in this week’s Fireside Chat. You can read more about Patty’s new role, experience, and visions in the announcement post on our blog. You can also read our Q2 Quarterly Report and last week’s Everything EOS weekly report to learn more about our rapidly growing team of amazingly talented value creators who will work alongside Patty for the benefit of EOS.

“I believe we are at a pivotal point in our history and there is an opportunity to provide new models to move the global community forward. I think that blockchain, more broadly, is going to enable new technologies and new thinking that will give people opportunities for new economic paths that they may not have today. Blockchain technology and innovation is a catalyst to help solve problems as a collective community for managing our resources more efficiently while bringing more transparency and accountability around that as well. I believe EOS is well positioned to be part of this movement.

The ENF has already assembled a strong team, I’m excited to be a part of it, and I look forward to going on this journey together with the EOS community.””

Reclaiming EOS on CoinMarketCap

We’ve finally gained access to update the EOS CoinMarketCap page and all of our channels are experiencing immense growth!

CoinMarketCap is the world’s most-referenced price-tracking website for cryptoassets and serves hundreds of millions of users who are interested in learning about blockchain. Previously CoinMarketCap linked to outdated EOS.IO materials that were abandoned by Block. One, which misled newcomers and gave many people a very incomplete picture of the amazing progress in EOS. After many months of communications with the CoinMarketCap team, we’ve finally reclaimed the page and updated it with current links to our website, Discord, Twitter, and Github repositories. As a result, our website is receiving a huge boost in traffic and many thousands of new people are now joining our Discord & following our progress on Twitter.

This will create compounding benefits over time as many more people know the best places to learn about EOS and join the community. You can hear more about this significant development in this clip with Zack Gall and the full discussion during a recent Fireside Chat.

Pomelo Season 3 Donations are Open

Pomelo Season 3 is in full swing and the community is excited for more public goods than ever on EOS!

You can now log in on Pomelo.io to support exciting projects that you love and amplify your donations with the power of quadratic funding. Over 132 grants have been approved so far and are eligible to receive a portion of over $366k in the matching pool that will be distributed to public goods creators for the benefit of the EOS community. In last week’s Everything EOS Weekly Report, we featured Pomelo’s excellent nine tweet mega thread with everything you need to know to participate in this season of Pomelo, including an adventurous article about cosmic Pomelo NFTs. This week, the Pomelo team released a new article to show all the exciting new features that will help make Pomelo Season 3 even more successful than Season 2!

The new article provides details about a wide variety of helpful new features, including a new field for project updates, clarifying Pomelo rules with a recently released post called What’s a public good?, simpler transactions, custom profiles pictures, Achievement Badge NFTs, multimedia grant descriptions, pitch sessions on Twitter Spaces, and various measures to ensure that public goods funding benefits the entire community.

Pomelo Season 3 is open for applications until August 8th, though public goods creators are encouraged to submit applications as soon as possible to ensure that the Pomelo team will have enough time to review everyone’s grants. All grant owners are encouraged to sign up to pitch your grant to the EOS community at five different types of Pomelo Pitch sessions. You can learn more about Pomelo Season 3 in their blog, a new series of Bywire interviews with Pomelo CEO Daniel Keyes, or by visiting the Pomelo.io platform.

D.U.N.E 1.0.0 RC1 Released

We published D.U.N.E 1.0.0 Release Candidate 1, which will make it easier than ever for developers to manage nodes, compile smart contracts, run tests, and build dApps!

D.U.N.E, or Docker Utilities for Node Execution, is a set of utilities that conveniently leverage Docker to run nodeos, cleos, and supporting development tools on a wide variety of operating systems. You can hear our Director of Engineering Areg Hayrapetain explain the features of D.U.N.E and what the new release candidate has to offer in this clip during last week’s Fireside Chat. Mandel 3.1 Upgrade Guide

We published a technical guide with instructions for node operators to prepare for the upcoming Mandel 3.1 consensus upgrade. The Mandel upgrade represents the network assuming ownership of its own codebase and this guide provides an upgrade checklist to facilitate the node upgrade process & avoid disrupting operations.

All node operators must upgrade their nodes before September 21 to continue syncing with the network. If you are running an EOS node, please read this document carefully and follow all instructions to ensure a smooth upgrade. Developers can fill out a survey form to help determine the most-used API nodes and help prioritize resources. Once the ENF publishes the final release, node operators can upgrade to Mandel. You can find the most recent release and summaries & recordings for all Mandel Upgrade Meetings in the Mandel Github repository.

Weekly Mandel Update

Eighteen EOS community leaders met for the twenty-fifth Mandel Upgrade Meeting to share the latest updates regarding the upcoming EOS Mandel Consensus Upgrade. As featured in our June 20th Weekly Report, EOS previously operated with the EOSIO software developed by Block One for the past several years, but now the EOS community is developing the Mandel core software independently. In this week’s meeting, the participants shared many helpful updates about Testing on D.U.N.E, Jungle 4, Kylin account bot, and the release of the Mandel upgrade guide.

As always, you can browse a more detailed overview of the discussion with timestamps for each topic in the video description on Youtube. You can also read the summary notes for this meeting and find summaries & recordings for all Mandel Upgrade Meetings in the Mandel Github repository.
