ƒractally on EOS Brainstorming Sessions

EOS community members are meeting every week to discuss proposals to implement ƒractally on EOS and further empower EOS with fractal governance.

The group aims to create a detailed proposal that specifies how to gradually implement ƒractally on EOS and satisfies EOS community members in all cultures. Members from the EOS Community can propose to add ideas to the ƒractally on EOS MindMap to help create a proposal for ƒractally on EOS. The EOS Bees are offering a reward of 100 EOS per week to community members who propose ideas that are voted onto the MindMap by meeting participants. You can listen to the recordings of all ƒractally on EOS Brainstorming Sessions on the NovaCrypto YouTube channel.

This week, the group discussed a detailed proposal from Jesse to fund three prime ƒractals (English, Chinese, and Korean) according to the quantity of mutual respect between each ƒractal and a proposal from Tadas to fund specific projects with ƒractals. In recent meetings, the group also discussed raising seed funding for ƒractals, applying for funding via the ENF Grant Framework, bootstrapping ƒractally with Pomelo, and creating an EOS ƒractal to foster public goods for EOS.

ƒractally Brainstorming Sessions recur every Monday on an alternating schedule to accommodate community members in all timezones and everyone is welcome to attend. The next ƒractally Brainstorming Session is scheduled for April 18th at 19:00 UTC.

Weekly Mandel Upgrade Meeting

Twelve EOS community leaders met for the ninth Mandel Upgrade Meeting to share the latest news and updates regarding the upcoming EOS Mandel Consensus Upgrade. EOS previously operated with the EOSIO software developed by Block One for the past several years, but now the EOS community is developing the Mandel core software independently.

The Next Era of Eden Begins

The second official Eden Election took place on April 9th and EOS community members expressed great enthusiasm for the next era of true democracy on EOS with the process defined in More Equal Animals.

Approximately one hundred Eden Members met on live video calls to choose leaders and allocate funding for the benefit of EOS. Participants were randomly placed into twenty-five groups of approximately five people and each group discussed for up to an hour to choose a delegate from their group. Altogether, the community selected twenty-four Eden Delegates to help lead the community and allocate funding for EOS. The Eden Delegates then repeated the same process to select five Chief Delegates who will receive a greater amount of funding and help lead the community on weekly Chief Delegate Meetings.

The five newly elected Chief Delegates are Brock Pierce, Chuck MacDonald, Edgar Fernandez, Gracie Lau, and Michael O’Sullivan. Edgar Fernandez was selected as the Head Chief via sortition and is scheduled to receive the highest amount of funding, though the amount of funding could change in the future if the new Chief Delegates ratify the bylaw changes proposed by the previous administration. There is almost 200k EOS in the Eden treasury that will be programmatically disbursed to Eden Delegates every month.

You can listen to each Chief Delegate express their gratitude, excitement for EOS, and plans to empower the Eden community in the moments after the Chief Delegates were elected on the Eden Election Day Stream. Brock Pierce spoke first about his deep conviction for EOS, plans to bring awareness & media attention to Eden, and a council he is forming to help allocate Eden funding.

Chuck MacDonald shared a detailed three part platform to empower communities with an easy-to-use Eden dApp, intrinsically valuable NFTs for Eden members, and community owned funding pools to help delegates allocate funding for the benefit of EOS. Chuck also shared many more details during an interview with NovaCrypto.

Michael O’Sullivan, CEO of Bywire News, spoke about telling the story of EOS and remunerating content creators who create great content about EOS. Gracie Lau, who is also a Chief Delegate of Eden China, spoke about improving the governance of EOS with community driven experimentation and sharing the learnings across Edens in various cultures. Edgar Fernandez, co-founder of EOS Costa Rica, spoke about integrating more tools for Eden and providing technical expertise to help the community execute great ideas and expand Eden to many blockchains.

Yves emphasized the need for Eden Delegates to iterate quickly with bold action and many more EOS community members shared passionate, inspired, and insightful speeches throughout the nearly six hour Eden Election livestream. Voting statistics and video recordings from each room can be found on the Genesis Eden website.

The next official Eden Election is scheduled for October 8th and the community is excited to further empower EOS with fractal governance. If you are not an Eden member and are interested in participating in future elections, you can contact a friendly EOS Support agent to learn more.
