Dan Larimer Announces ƒractally built on EOS

Dan Larimer is combining the lessons he has learned from all his previous blockchain ventures into a new project called ƒractally, which is being built on EOS and aims to facilitate the creation of the next generation of DAOs. ƒractally combines elements of Bitshares (DEX), Steem & Hive (incentivized blogging on EOS through Violet Garden) and Eden On EOS (fractal democracy). The ƒractally team, composed of many of the original EOSIO developers that have since left Block.one, has also been sponsored by the ENF to build and maintain the upcoming community EOSIO fork named Mandel.

ƒractally has also hired John Williams of Violet Garden and we can expect more hiring announcements in the coming weeks and months. Please note that there will not be an ICO or any airdrops associated with ƒractally.

The full ƒractally whitepaper is due out in less than 1 month on February 22nd, 2022. Follow @gofractally on Twitter to stay up to date on all the latest announcements.

The Art of the Rant by Yves La Rose

In the first video of a new series called /rant (end rant) — Executive Director of the EOS Network Foundation, Yves La Rose, introduces a new format for engaging with the EOS community: the rant. Where one man’s rant ends, another begins, and the discussion continues.

/rant is meant to be a conversational, direct way for Yves to share his thoughts on the issues of the day, and respond to questions and ideas raised by EOS community members themselves.

In his 2nd /rant, Yves La Rose talks about the importance of learning from our mistakes. Make sure to subscribe to the Everything EOS YouTube channel and hit the bell to be notified every time a new rant is published!

Chintai’s New Hire and the Hubbis Panel

Chintai continued to make inroads in the Asian financial services market this week by hiring Karim Raffa as Chintai’s Global Sales Director. Based in Singapore, Mr Raffa was listed as a Top 100 Fintech influencer by Onalytica in 2020.

On top of this new hire, Chintai continues to make its presence felt by being a regular sponsor and panelists on related events, such as the January 27th Hubbis event where David Peckham, CEO of Chintai, spoke on the panel named even “Digital Assets and Tokenisation — Guiding Asia’s Private Clients through this Rapidly Expanding World”.

Upland Opens Los Angeles

Upland is EOS’ most popular Dapp and it continues to grow and expand at an impressive rate. This week they opened their latest city, Los Angeles, and the expected demand was so high the team cautiously performed stress tests on their servers before officially opening the new city. As always, 13% of the the properties are reserved for newcomers to the game as specified by their “Fair Start Act” so now is a great time to jump into Upland for the first time if you have not yet done so!

Upland also released their Upland Brand Guide to help communities build their branding in a consistent fashion with the rest of the game. Following this release, the Redhook community did a deep dive in the public branding folder and identified some pictures of Miles, the Upland lama mascot, posing for pictures with Mark Cuban and Mark Zuckeberg! Of course the community went wild and speculated on what this could mean for Upland. What do you think?

Finally, the NFLPA Championship Games are coming and Upland has opened new stadium stores that allow Uplanders to buy exclusive NFLPA Legits NFTs.

Boid’s EOS PowerUp NFTs

Over 600 Boid NFTs were airdropped this week to early supporters of the EOS PowerUp platform!

Also, the new weekly donation leaderboard is now live and allows supporters of the platform to accumulate Bronze, Silver and Gold NFTs based on the amount of donations sent to the platform. These NFTs will award utility to the holders such as additional free PowerUps (bronze), earning a cut of fees from users they invite (silver) and removing all auto PowerUp platform fees (gold).
