The Everything EOS Weekly Report publishes all of the latest news and updates from around the world in the EOS ecosystem.
Vitalik Buterin Praises EOS
EOS gained a huge boost of media engagement and community growth this week as Vitalik Buterin, the founder of Ethereum, praised EOS for its high performance & professional top-talent team of software developers!
Vitalik Buterin is a brilliant builder & visionary innovator who is widely respected as one of the most prominent thought leaders in Web3. Vitalik’s work with Ethereum has created tremendous benefits for all of humanity and his thoughts provide boundless inspiration for many of the greatest thinkers in the world. Millions of genius creators closely follow Vitalik’s blog, podcasts, and tweets to learn profoundly helpful insights about a vast variety of topics, including blockchain design, governance, and life extension. In EOS, Vitalik’s article A Flexible Design for Funding Public Goods paved the way for creating positive sum games on EOS with quadratic crowdfunding platform Pomelo. In addition to this brief overview of immeasurably helpful contributions, Vitalik’s work has inspired & empowered countless leaders in the EOS community to more effectively create positive global change for all!
Vitalik’s praise attracted an enormous amount of attention towards EOS, inspiring countless Web3 influencers and media outlets to learn more about EOS & share their thoughts. The EOS community responded with deep appreciation for Vitalik and consummately seized the opportunity to help everyone understand the phenomenal progress & benefits of EOS.
Yves La Rose, CEO of the ENF, led the way by quote tweeting Vitalik’s praise with a short thread about the EOS comeback story for everyone who needs to be caught up. Yves started by stating the fact that EOS is the most performant blockchain in the world and responding to Vitalik’s previous concern about Block. One, the incompetent former developers who were featured in our May 23rd Weekly Report. With our leadership since founding the ENF last year, EOS is now attracting many of the most talented developers in the world, including our newly hired Director of Engineering, Director of Developer Relations, world-class development firms who are hiring, and Senior EOSIO Engineers who are incredibly accomplished.
Yves goes on to highlight the tremendous progress of the EOSIO Coalition, which you can learn more about on our blog & playlist. He also highlighted the rapid innovations of our core software, as you can see in our Mandel playlist, weekly summaries, & June 20th Weekly Report. To cap the thread, Yves hinted how EOS will empower Ethereum with the forthcoming Trust EVM, invited Vitalik to chat at ETH Toronto, and encouraged DMs to help everyone enjoy the story of The New EOS.
In emergent harmony with Vitalik’s tweet and Yves’ thread, the EOS community rose to the occasion with countless helpful messages to spread awareness about the benefits of EOS. Charles Bishop, Head of Communications at EOS Support, thanked Yves for the summary and kindly invited everyone to learn more about EOS from their free community-led live support team. Nathan James, our new Director of Developer Relations, invited Vitalik to collaborate in the EOS Discord and curated some funny memes. The Trust EVM team introduced themselves to Vitalik and offered their service to help Ethereum developers enjoy the technical superiority of EOS. There were also countless helpful messages from Brandon Lovejoy, Helios, Areg Hayrapetian, Daniel Larimer, Mell Pearce, EOS Marketplace, and many other great EOS community leaders who you can see featured in this week’s EOS Hot Sauce.
Vitalik’s tweet provided EOS with an opportunity connect with a much wider global audience and the EOS community was quick to leverage the spotlight to create more opportunities. For example, Corvin Meyer auf der Heide, founder of EOS game Liquiid Universe, used the spotlight to invite famed journalists to interview ENF leaders. The EOS Bees crafted a beautiful flowery thank you to Vitalik, shared educational content about the unique decentralization of EOS, and analyzed responses by dozens of the most popular influencers who interacted with Vitalik’s tweet. When a popular Ethereum enthusiast named WendyO asked about EOS, Yves shared why our comeback is inevitable and offered to join her show to discuss EOS. We also responded with the archive of Everything EOS Weekly Reports that show how EOS is more alive than ever and progressing in an absolutely unparalleled trajectory.
We are immensely grateful for the incredibly helpful work of Vitalik, the EOS community, and the Ethereum community. You can learn more about our response to Vitalik’s praise in this week’s Fireside Chat, where community leaders discussed how the EOS community seized the opportunity and fostered huge growth after Vitalik’s post. We’re thrilled that Vitalik is promoting the benefits of EOS and looking forward to many more collaborations with Vitalik & Ethereum in the future. We also particularly appreciate the opportunity that Vitalik provided to connect with his millions of talented followers and loved seeing the EOS community sharing the story of The New EOS with a wider audience. If you’re interested in joining the most exciting comeback story imaginable and creating exponential change for the benefit of humanity with EOS, please feel free to reach out.
Third Official Eden Election
The third official Eden Election is scheduled for July 9th and everyone is encouraged to participate to help lead the next era of true democracy on EOS. With almost 200k EOS in the Eden treasury and the elegant fractal consensus process outlined by Daniel Larimer in More Equal Animals, the upcoming Eden election provides an excellent opportunity to raise funding to build public goods for EOS.
Since the momentous Second Eden Election in April and the first words from the newly Chief Delegates, the Eden community has made some exciting progress. ENF CEO Yves La Rose emphasized the need for Eden Delegates to iterate quickly with bold action during the last election and we congratulate Chief Delegates Brock Pierce, Chuck MacDonald, Edgar Fernandez, Gracie Lau, & Michael O’Sullivan for their decisive actions to lead the future of Eden. Among the highlights of the Chief Delegates’ accomplishments, Eden has gained a large degree of independence by officially transferring the active permissions of Eden accounts to the Chief Delegates. This unprecedented transfer was made possible by a collaboration between the Chief Delegates, former developers at ƒractally, the ENF, and the EOS DAO.
As noted above, the third official Eden Election is scheduled for July 9th at 13:00 and everyone is encouraged to participate. Please note that the date on the Eden member portal may not yet be updated due to technical reasons and the Eden community is working to update the code to show the correct date. Please also note that all participants must register again after the code is updated and must register at least twenty-four hours in advance to participate. If you are not an Eden member and would like to participate in the upcoming election, contact a friendly EOS Support agent to join. You can also reach out in the Eden Discord or Telegram chat to learn more about Eden.

Bithumb Enables EOS Staking Rewards
One of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges in the world, Bithumb, announced they’re offering EOS staking rewards for their customers. As Yves La Rose and Joe Louis discussed during this week’s Fireside Chat, this is the first time that Bithumb has offered yield for any asset. The synergy of this offering with the Yield+ initiative can set forth a domino effect to create profound benefits for EOS!
To complement the excellent discussion during the Fireside Chat and help Western community members understand how this development is so helpful for EOS, Yves shared a fascinating short thread elucidating why this is the start of major exchanges offering competitive staking rewards with EOS & how this will make EOS a more attractive investment across the world. This thread also provides insights into the restrictive regulatory environment of South Korea and how the compliantly designed Yield+ liquidity incentive program can help foster tremendous growth. You can learn more about how Bithumb and more of the largest exchanges in the world can benefit from Yield+ in the recently released Yield+ Blue Paper, Everything EOS Podcast, and our weekly reports from May 30th & June 20th.

Seventeen EOS community leaders met for the twenty-first Mandel Upgrade Meeting to share the latest updates regarding the upcoming EOS Mandel Consensus Upgrade. As featured in our June 20th Weekly Report, EOS previously operated with the EOSIO software developed by Block One for the past several years, but now the EOS community is developing the Mandel core software independently.
